Casa da Cultura (Cultural Marketplace)
It was once a colonial prison. It has since been transformed into a centre for traditional arts. Excellent musical and dance performances often take place right outside the building. It is also an excellent place to obtain tourist information.

Oficina Ceramica Francisco Brennand
The studio, workshop and museum of one of Brazil’s best know artists, located a few kilometers outside the city. The colonial ceramics factory that Brennand converted into his atelier is surrounded by thick and original Atlantic forest. Over two thousand sculptures.

The King Afonso VII donated this church to the Recife Africans. In its interior the Negro saints are present.

Pátio São Pedro
Colonial houses dated of XVIII and XIX centuries. There are many tourist buildings in the area.

 Recife Antigo (Old Recife)
Is the oldest area of the city, where is localized the Zero Point and the Port. Many buildings have been restored and revitalized. It is an important cultural and nightlife area with many bars, restaurants, leisure activities and important events. The principal attractions are the colonial houses and the historical monuments as Madre de Deus Cathedral (dated of 1709) and the Torre Malakof (old weather observatory built in 1855).

Beaches:

Pina Beach
The beach with its calm water and dark sand was an old fisherman colony. There are a gastronomic centre with restaurants and bars at Polo Pina area; a nice play to enjoy the evening.

Boa Viagem Beach
The most famous beach of Pernambuco. Its green water and reefs form natural swimming pools of warm water. Good restaurant infrastructure. Surfing not allowed due to shark presence.
